Col. Van Horn, in command of the troops, together with the sheriff, reconnoitred the ground, and then marched within long rifle range of the ranch and dismounted his men.Coi. Van Horn and the sheriff, with flagsof truce, advanced to within 100 yards of the outer fortification, where they were met, by a representative of the b sieged cattlemen.After a short parley the *tooknien surrendered to Col. Van Horne, and were at once escorted to Fort McKinney, where they are at present under protection of thetroops.The rustlers offered no objection to the cattlemen surrendering to Col. Van Horn.During the almost incessant firing which has been kept up for the past two days on the besieged party, only two men were wounded, one severely.Their names cannot be learned now. None of the rustlers were hurt.”Just what the next move will be cannot be said.The stockmen will he protected at the United States post until Col. Van Horne receives further orders from the commandant at Omaha.The men will undoubtedly be turned over to the State authorities to answer for the killing of Kay and Champion.FIGHT FOK EXTERMINATION.Cattlemen Bound to Drive the BustlersOut of the Country.Gillette, Wyo., April 14.—The war on Powder river seems not to have abated.A cattleman from near the scene of action arrived at Gillette last evening.He says he is on his way out of the country, but it is presumed he is looking for reinforcements from this section of the country.lie does not give any discouraging newsfrom his side, but says this will be a fightfor extermination, and kept up until therustlers are driven from Wyoming.The situation seems unchanged from dispatches of Tuesday, except that each side is making itself secure and awaiting a battle.It wa» reported by the Burlington stage last evening that the cattlemen are surrounded at the Tisdale ranch and closely pressed.A number of cow boys and cattlemen are in Gillette, all well armed and mounted,
