About a week later I came into possession of another slip ofpaper, and wrote a little article,.stating the scarcity and inferiority of our grub, and in a fewdays, thanks to the noble mothersof those girls, I received a greatbig box of boiled ham, bakedturkey, chicken and dressing,cakes, pie3. loaf bread, jams,ellies, and lots of other goodthings, and so, Mr. Kditor, youwill have to excuse me when 1love them yet: even though,if there are any of them yet living, they are now mothers,grandmothers and great-grandmothers, but I love their postertty.Chub.”L.
