“Mrs. Homermaker of 1964 and 1965“ is the title which was bestowed on Mrs. Worthy Harris of Shady Spring Saturday after-noon at the annual Home and Sport Show sponsored by Beck-ley Jaycees.This has been announced by Mrs. Richard Hash, a member of the Beckley Jay-Dettes, (wives of Jaycee members) which sponsored the contest in conjunction with the show. Rules of the contest were, a club, organization or an individual could send a letter of nomination including a photograph and enter the contest without any charge.These letters were judged by Mrs. Judy McKinney, Mrs. Sherry Rose, Miss Frances Smith, Philip Payne and E. J. Merger. Mrs. Audrey Bateman submitted the letter nominating Mrs. Harris.Selected as runner up in the constest was Mrs. Charles F. Shoemaker Jr. of 410 Pike St.In her letter Mrs. Bateman stated, “Variety is the spice of life, and truly Mrs. Harris can attribute her zest to living to her many activities which center around her home and community. ^ Her most admirable quality is that she always has time for God, her family, and friends.’*
