Over Hundred Citizens Give ServiceObservationServiceranPark. The aircraft warning service in i Eustis is doing a very fine job. There is continuous night and day observation in shifts of three hours each with two people on tach shift. This makes a grand total of 112 Eustis citizens who are serving on the tower in Fer-ran Park. This includes men and women.Owing to sickness and people leaving the city there has been some difficulty in keeping the regular 24 hour watch. Some workers have been obliged to double up and others work six hours instead of three. There is need principally of men to work from 6 p. m. to 6 a. m.. which hours are least desirable for women. If any man can donate three hours to his country in this watch tower service itwill be deeply appreciated. Unfortunately, there are some people who do not consider the work at the post at all necessary. That is a great pity as vigilance is the price of safety. Even if no enemy planes ever flew over Florida, even though the effort expended did not result in spotting anything of any consequence, there is still the fact that the enemy knows we are on guard. Besides which, look at the post from the standpoint of a first aid service alone. If only one plane cracked up and were spotted by the observers in the post, it would more than justify the 24 hourwatch. The cry that it cannot happen here is worn out. It car. happen anywhere. How about some male recruits for these hours between 6 p. m. and 6 a. m.?
