We heard of an incident that recenty occurred at Bloomfield. A German resident of that place who possessed his naturalization papers and was a free American citizen, allowed his feelings to get the better of him over the recent complications arising from the severing of relations of our government and Germany. He took it upon himself to write the Kaiser a personal letter, in which we understand he he informed the Kaiser that in case of war between the two countries there were hundreds of German sympathizers here who would be willing to join the German army and fight for that country. He mailed the letter but it was picked up at Chicago by government inspectors and action was taken at once. A deputy United States Marshal was sent to Bloomfield after the man. He was found and placed in jail for three days and his naturalization papers were taken away from him. After this was done the German government was informed of the matter and he was informed that he was then a fit subject to join the German army and fight for the country he expressed a desire to help. No further action has been taken so far, but we have it on good authority that this man has seen the light and it is said he is now an entirely different man. He would almost givfe his life to be reinstated in the good graces of our country of the free, but there is no such good fortune coming to a man who has proven himself a traitor. The average value of farm land with buildings in Iowa is $134.41, which isRlimnHRPfl nnlv hu TlltnnSa
