WOULD SERVE COUNTRYMRS. MARY C. SHERWOOD.My only regret is that I am not twenty years younger, so my services would prove more valuable to my country, declared Mrs. Mary C. Sher-wood, 78, owner and proprietor of the Sherwood Hotel; as she offered her services to the National League for Women’s Service Wednesday morning. Mrs. Sherwood enlisted for general service, declaring she would do anything demanded of her for her country. She came here from Pomeroy, O., at which place in 1861 she and her father entertained the first regiment to leave that locality for service during tho Civil War on the night before the regiment left for the front.
