Since that time it has grown to cover the top of the wall and toinclude embelms of the men fighting everwhere from the South Pacific to the shores of Italy.Some of the most highly prized emblems include that of the Air Force, which Denton’s General Roger Rainey led to fame in the bombing of Wake Island and the sinking of 22 Jap vessels in the ; Bismarck Sea. There's the large A with a 5 in the center, emblem of the 5th Army now fighting so valiantly in Italy.lem of a black panther with a tank in his Jaws.IMany InsigniaVisiting soldiers can see the insignia of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Armies, Bombardier and Air Service wings, the sign of the paratrooper, and the insgnia of the Armored Forces and Armored Corps. They can see how to identify the men of 25 different divisions; five defense guards, and Ground Forces. Service Forces, General Headquarters. Service Commands. I.” . . . . the forces fighting in China, Burma and India This emblem, made by natives in India, was sent to Mrs. Jerry Nell Cresson of Denton from her husband in the Air Forces there.Clarence Barnett, a Denton boy who was stationed in Africa, sent one made by the natives there. It is blue muslin, embroidered onto white j kid. with a roc, the mythical bird, i embroidered in yellow on the center. That is side by side with theemblem of the First Cavalry Unit,who recently took the Admiralties.“Battle Blaze.” an insignia commemorating the first Guadalcanal battle, Is made of blue eldth with a red numeral 1 and a white letter G, surrounded by white stars representing the constellation of the Southern Cross, under which the baitie of the Solomons toe* place,1 RAF.
