Post office mural is back on displayOGLESBY (AP) - A post office mural that has been under wraps for weeks has been uncovered at the request of Oglesby residents.The controversial painting was covered with blinds in mid-June when post office janitor John Swartz filed a union grievance calling the scene pornographic.The wall-sized mural “Illini and Potawatomies Struggle at Starved Hock,” was painted in 1942 as part of a federally funded project It depicts a battle between Illini and Potawotomi Indians. Some of the Indians have exposed buttocks.
