They were listed as Edith Mazie Devoe, 33-year-old U. S. Navy nurse stationed in Oakland, and Alma LeeSmith, 26, 3420 Meeks Ave.,Bakersfield. Snyder Ambulance responded.A half hour later CaliforniawHighway Patrol officers responded to an accident three miles north of the traffic circlewhere three men were reported injured. They were identified at the county hospital as Paul J. Dancy, 33, San Fernando; Arce Smith, 26, Los Angeles, and S James Morgan, 18, Parks Air Force Base. Ayer Ambulance w answered the call.
