GOOD BOY BACONTendered Good By© Supper at Ivon House. Goes to PanamaII. D. Bacon was tendered a farewell banquet at the New Iven House, New Meadows, last Friday by 7 5 employees in the shipyard department of the Bath Iron Works. Mr. Bacon left the first of the week for Panama, where he has accepted a position in charge of one of the shipyard plants of the Panama Canal Commission, and the reception was arranged to express the good will of Mr. Bacon’s fellow workmen.Following the special shore dinner, an interesting social session was enjoyed. Foreman Robert Cochran of the construction department •presided, and in behalf of the gathering, presented Mr. Bacon a handsome inscribed silver pocket knife. Mr. Bacon responded and the evening was brought to a close with singing “For He is a Jolly Good Fellow.“ Mr. Bacon will start for Panama next Tuesday. He has been a resident of Bath for 13 years and his last position was assistant foreman in the shipyard of the B. I. W.The committee of arrangements on the banquet were Roy Donnell, William Donnell, Lester Robbins, Emerson Glidden, Edward Whitehouse.
