Woolley, president of Mount Holyoke Col Lege and member of the American delegation to tli-a : disarmament conference, addressed an audience in Chicago’s Grant Parle. The meeting and • an International broadcast were sponsored by the Women’? International League for-Peace. The program honored the memory of the late Jane Add am a. founder of *he organization, on the 75th anniversary of. her birth. 'TJrglng. her auditors to carry on Miss Adda ms' work, Dr. Woolley said:“She realized that there is no such thing as security by arms;that the most a nation can do isenter a mad race toward a goal of bankruptcy or destruction. . . .Signatories of the Kellogg-Briand pact,-let us'urge our governments to stop all* increase in armaments. refuse to believe that human intelligence and spirit can not rise above f.h* kw of the jungle.
