As a final effort, M. Dearly gave the Apache dance, of which he is the originator. In this he is assisted by Mile. Marise Damia, who has the advantage of being a lady with a very beautiful figure, the charm of which the tightly fitting black dress does little to hide. The original Apache dance is not quite such a fierce and violent affair as we have made it in this country, and it certainly gains in artistic effect by itsmoderation. M. Dearly and his charming companion receivedquite an ovation, but the dance was not repeated. I shouldthink it would draw crowdfe to the Empire for some time tocome. A. G.
