JDF praised for flood aidGovernor-General. the Most Hon Florizd Claapole, has praised the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) for the remarkable job k has been doing in aauung the thou sands of flood victims in west em JamaicaHe was speaking at Up Park Camp on Tuesday, July S, as the JDF Air Wing celebrated its 16th Anniversary ParadeCommenting that the extent of the devastation and dislocation caused by the flood rains had to be seen tobe believed. Mr. Glasspole said the army had impressed everyone with its dedication and sense of organisation.One result of this effi cicncy on the part of the army, he said, was the high morale among those cuirens a fleeted by the floods Most of these cititetM. he said, were satisfied that they were getting the best possible treatmentMr Glasspole noted that the army would have to remain m charge of the distn button of food supplies forsome time yet and called on the members of the JDF to maintain the high standards they had already set themselvesHe gave special words of praise to the overseas personnel assisting in flood relief work, and to those countries thai donated relief supplies Two officers of the JDF Lt. Comm John' McFartanc and Lt. Yola Cain were presented with their Air Wings by the Governor General. Lt Cain b now the only woman pilot in the JDF API
