Mankiller, Harris among Drum Award winnersDURANT, Okla. - Two prominent women leaders, Wilma Mankiller and Ladonna Harris, are among seven people receiving Drum Awards this year.The award recognizes individuals and tribes for their accomplishments and contributions to society and are sponsored by the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and the Cherokee, Chickasaw and Muskogee Creek nations.The awards will be handed out Nov. 1 at the Choctaw Nation Event Center in Durant.
