Trish Erickson1 ’ointsOilerette RompTrish Erickson set a singlegame Oil City High girls' scoring record with 48 points as the Oilereftes drubbed hapless Titusville, 85-28, in a Section 2 game last night Oil City coach Rick Fletcher said he checked with former coach Dixie Agnew who told him the 48 points was definitely a record. But it is not known who held the old mark — although it was believed to be held by either Jodi Gault or Melinda Hale or how many points it was Erickson, a three year starter, hit on 20 of 25 shots from the field, and went eight-for-eight at the foul line.“I’ve just never seen anybody shoot like that,” Fletcher said She was hitting mostly from the corner, with Cathv Serafinbeing credited for setting her up, and off the fast break Erickson played the entire game She had 12 points at the quarter, and 27 by halftime. Then she made eight in the third quarter and 13 in the fourth Fletcher said the 25 shots is what Erickson normally takes during a game. She now has 173 points for the season The win kept the Oilerettes undefeated at 7-0 They will hostRocky Grove Thursday.Not only was Erickson busy scoring points, but she was hitting Deb Harkless with the outlet pass off the fast break Harkless ended w ith 15 points The Oilerettes outrebounded Titusville which is now 0-7, 31-20 They hit on 36 of 76 shots from the field as a team for 47 per cent Titusville shot 12 for 35for 34 percent Oil City also won the jayvee game, 48-17, as Pat McMahon scored 13 points, Jennifer Ohle 11 and Kim Dunlap 10.
