Sunday afternoon when the locals defeated the fast Cleveland Tuscan's in an auspicious, manner by a I'd to 0 score.The Wester a branded as this fall’s champions of Elyria, played a fast, consistent, game, using the line rushes, end runs, crack formtaions and trick plays at opportune times and to great advantage during the game. The Western certainly put up a splendid game.The local warrior scored in the initial quarter when L. Crandall on on end run crossed the visitor’s goat. R. Crandall kicked goal from placement. The game was a see-sawing affair with honors quite evenly divided until the final quarter when Vargo, last year’s crack Northern Ohio university players kicked two drop kicks from the thirty-yard line. Hr; performed the 'eat with consider-rior showed up tenaciously at guard and Rawsou played a star game at center. The rest of the Western A, C. pig skin hooters played up to their standard. Colby gained seven yards around end.H. Hayes lost a yar dand Kouz was sent back for an additional seven yards. Theurer punted off side and the Western put the ball in play on the* Tuscan’s 27 yard line.ILine plunges by Basely and Cargo brought the bail to the 10 yard lineand L. Crandall carried the hall over• *for the only touch down of the game on a straight buck. The rest of the game was a see-sawing affair.The Tuscans made a good showing in the second quarter, bringing the ball wet linto the Western’s territory. Both teams bunted during this . quarter featured by open playing as was the third quarter.With a seven to 0 lead in the final quarter the Westerns were unable to make big -gains but short gains bringing the pigskin twice to- the Tuscan’a 30 yard line when CargoFAST TUSCANSdropped kick two beautiful goals.
