Rase Ball. The Active club of this city, and the Mixed Stockings of Dillsborough played a match game of ball Saturday, on the Hoos-ier grounds. The ‘’Socks” mot a Waterloo, scoring only 19 to 52 for the Actives. The conduct of the Dillsborough lads on this occasion is deserving of severe censure. I They should learn that it takes skill andj science, and not bullying, to gain a victory | in base ball. The Actives are entitled to honor for taking no notice of the ungentle* manly conduct of their opponents, and their forbearance met with the approval of the ladies presnet especially.Thomas Moran won the silver mounted prize bat offered to the member making the best score. Tommie is said to be one of the best ball tossers we have.Since writing the above we have receiv ed the full score :ACTIVE.O.R.FlysMTXED STOCK.O.It.Radfepinner,17Godert,24Sutton, H.73Procter,41Wymoud,42Barnett,23Baker,361Misner,22Sutton, W.07l*ai*son,42DaviK,453Suits,33Stedman,8CWithrow,22Kirby,4G1Green,41Moran,084Johnson,4127522710InnningS1 23 4 5 0 789Active5 80 4 7 71263—52Mixed Stockings, 42801001 8—19Fly’s caught.
