She has won champion-lanes. She has won champ ships in city, state, sectional, and world’s competition, and is believed to be the only feminine competitor to finish as high as second in a sweepstakes open tq male contestants. The latter feat occurred when she participated in the Scnter Clussic at Temple City, Calif., two years ago. Catherine not only won the handicap division with 1,117 for five games, but her 1,051 scratch was good enough to boat all but one of the men stars. She first place there, too, but for a probably would have garnered disastrous 157 in her finale game of the meet.During the past two years Catherine has captured the Chicago city all-events, the Century of Progress all-evenls, the city team championship, and the Boulevard Individual Classic at Charleston, West Virginia. She won state titles in doubles and team events and lost out in the state ull-cvents by the margin of a single pin. Her team captured the Central States tournament and the Indianapolis Star meet, and she herself won the San Antonio Bowler’s Day’s Ladies Classic with 635.Not only baseball and bowling, but every type of sport, has come naturally to Catherine. She held the national championship in track events such as the discus and the shotpul; was an outstanding basketball star; scintillated in Silver Skates Derbies; and was a member of Chicago city championship teams, in just one year, in track, bowling, basketball, and softball!Although many athletes are wonderful competitors, not many are gifted with the ability to teach sports. Catherine is the exception to the rule. She knows bowling from the ground up, andis proficient in her methods of imparting this knowledge to beginners as well as to average bowlers. For instance, her high back-swing which is natural and even necessary in her own delivery, she dues not recommend to be-giners because it is difficult to control. I£er own teaching points out the fact that the backswing should be of medium lenght, with greatest emphasis on complete control of the ball at all times. If any feminine readers have bowling problems they would like solved, a few words from Catherine Fellmeth may be all that is needed. At any rate, they wil find her ready and willing to help them with their game, when she appears at Circle Bowling Lanes—Sat.
