Davids Conquer Odessa Club, 8*4ODESSA Sept. 27.—Playing be-i fort one of the largest crowds of the season, the famous House of ' David hall club defeated an aU-starclub by th* close score of 8-4. The Davids who are used to winning theur games by several dozens runsmargin, found a suff opponent today. Except for a wild second inning, wht*- the Davids scored five 1 rum, after two were out, on a mixed assortment of errors, hits and bone-heads. the game was nip and tuck.A heavy rain in Odessa caused the game to be played on the Midland diamond. The hitting stare of ! the day were Tally, Tucker. Han-. sen. Ray Estes and Harris: with Harm polling out a triple and double. West, who arrived at the game late, made several sensational catches. and while at bat. he walked » three times and got hit on fourth j trip to the plate.
