A storm of protest has been stirred up at Queen’s university * over ' the statement that the athletic directoratehad offered '‘Silver Quilty, the Ottawa college football player, -free tuition to play for Queen’s this season, it was stated some weeks ago that there was- a. likelihood of Quilty attending Queen's university, but he has returned to Ottawa, college from Montreal seminary, and will be out again with Father Stanton’s warriors. Queen’s . university does not offer inducements to footbal-l players or other athletes .to attend school hero. Athletics take thoir p^ace in . the Itfe of Queen's as an adjunct to academic pursuit., Sport is encouraged, but It is not regarded as a business.* c *
