* .;■ r ,1DEFEAT THE 6ENIOR-FBE8AlAN TEAM IN RUGBY GAME3 TO 0.One of the most exciting games ever played between classes was played yesterday afternoon when the Sophomore-Junior team, captained by O’Hare defeated the Senior-Fresh man team, captained by Burr Holmes, by a score of 3 to 0.The game was a-fine-exhibition of rugby and of school spirit. The players were on their toes from start to finish. .Coach Griffith refereed and he said it did look good for Kern County High School in the coining league games. Two former high school lads officiated, Kollin Hosking as timekeeper and Ben Slater as touch judge. Howard Morris a present high school lad, was the other touch judge.Every one on both teams played an excellent game, but those to be specially praised were; B. Holmes,captain of the Senior-Freshman team; Ross Middough, F.' Easton, N. Mull, E. Baker, H. H'earle and H. Coombs and A. Edwards, all being seasoned men; Montague Veon and F’. Stockton of the Freshman bunch.On the . Sophmore-Junior team there was great, team work and everyone was responsible . for winning.It was through, the fine passing of P. Williams and a nice run of L. Hearl that the three points were made for the JuniorSophmore team. S. Carillo, R. Holmes, E* Alexander,. R. Curran and - P. O'Hare in the back field, and W*. Scribner, G. Baldwin, F. Seimon, Ash, Keough, Hatcher and Wagy in the s6rum didfine work helping tbeir^team to win.Principal Macomber and many of the teachers witnessed the game and they all thought that the boys were (the grittiest and hardest working set of boys they ever saw in action.
