England.Kin Bjorksten is a woman pioneer, a distinguished Scandina-Physieai hrdl T k kAt m m mb vian in her leadership in the Physical Education field. It is over one hundred years since Fehr Henrik Ling succeeded in awaking interest in the practice, study and teaching of Swedish gymnastics. It has been left to a woman,fl native of Finland to write thesecond act of that work and apply it definitely to women. When she demonstrated with her students from Jelsingfors University at the Olympic games, her fame outstripped the bounds of those countries. She has been given the honorary title of Ling Act 2, In 1927 she was decorated by the King of Denmark, and in 1930 by the King of Sweden in recognition of her great work.
