OUTLOOK FOR ATHLETICS IS ROSY The dawn of peace! Snow College students are preparing for a big year in the field of sports. Due to the acute shortage of man power during the last few years, the sports side of college life has been limited. But this year men are not only in the majority but they are men with experience and ability unmatch ed in previous years. This is due, of course, to the fact that the war in terrupted the education of many and therefore there are male students in junior colleges that would ordinarily be in senior colleges. All the colleges have student bodies rich in experience and for that reason the competition should be very keen and of a high standard. Perhaps some junior college records will be broken this year. The students are really looking for a banner year in football. Snow has barely had a winning football team because it is located in a region where only a few high schools play football; therefore most of their material has been green and inexperienced. This year, unlike the past, we are boasting a team with experienced gridders as well as many anxious green players. The new coaches, Williams and Mik kelson, are doing a good job getting the boys in shape. They had their first scrimmage with Wasatch Aca demy. Snow was highly superior but no conclusions can be drawn by scrimmaging with a high school squad, although they certainly looked good, both offensive and defensive. The first Jaycee league game is with Dixie at St. George on Sept. 27th. Dixie traditionally has had very good football teams, but after next Fri day we'll know. Other scheduled games are: Snow at B.A.C. Oct. 4th, Carbon at Snow Oct. 11, Mesa at Snow Oct. 18, and Dixie at Snow Nov. ist. Twenty-nine men have turned out for this years season. They are: Guards — Leeland Wimmer, Bry Sor enson, Blane Eliason, Kay Rymer, Bryce Goodwin. Ends — Glen Good win, Wayne Wilberg, Clark Mortensen, Niel Roberts, Von Allred, John Jones. Quarter Backs — Elmer Ellis, Lars Bishop. Half-backs — Glen Gibson, Klar Oldroyd, Robert Southam, Del mar Gardener. Full backs — Allen Nielson, Neldon Jensen, Roger Son- Grup. Tackles — Lee Petty, Don Gib son, Bobby Williams, Mark Munk, Gail Stott, Yale Beck, Jess Earl. Cen ters — Sheldon Jones, Lovell Buch anan.
