Wilson added the extra point following the decisive bomb.North (1-1) couldn’t get untracked offensively as the Vikings suffered five turnovers, including four fumbles, on the day.IN ANOTHER BATTLEof unbeatens, Lake Highlands (2-0) rallied from behind midway through the fourth quarter to topple Northwood (1-1) 18-7 behindthe three-touchdown performance of running back Scott Flores.Flores staked the Wildcats to a 6-0 lead in the first quarter when he tallied on a 15-yard gallop. After a pair of scoreless periods, Northwood gained the upper hand with 6:30 left in the game when Victor Langley drilled Joe Bell with a 30-yard scoring strike. Kevin O’Toole booted the extra point.Lake Highlands bounced back with two touchdowns in the final four minutes as Flores scored on runs of four and two yards.Defensive standouts for the Wildcats included nose guard WendeM Norris, tackle Steve Demmin, end Brian Shewski and linebacker Stan Carrio while tackle Jon Short, ends Steve Tomson and Thomas Coleman and linebacker Kevin O’Toole shined for North, wood.other to power West (1-1) to a 28-7 romp over Richardson (0-2).Paul Studebaker also tallied on a six-yard spurt and Richard Seiling found Doug Hardison on a 10-yard touchdown pass for the other Bronco scores. Mc-Kimmey and Guy Clemens booted two extra points apiece.Richardson’s lone touchdown came in the third period when Mark Wood scored from the six and Brian Ervine added the conversion.End Brad Elliot, linebacker Cliff Hyatt, tackle David Tucker and back Todd Nordeen played outstanding defense for West as did linebacker Mark Sims for the Falcons.Craig Matlock scored on runs of nine and four yardsand Mike Mannerberg added a 25-yard gallop to fuel Westwood (1-1) to a 20 -7 rout over Liberty (0-2). The Warriors’ lone conversion came on a pass from Jeff Robertson to Lee Mc-Casland.Gary Brown scampered six yards for Liberty’s touchdown and also added the extra point.
