The Eagles, playing their first game of the season, have only one man left frcm last year’s powerful starting team. However, NTSC has a fair share of the second and third unit men which gave depth to the squad which lost only two of 11 games last year and handed the 1959 Miners a 31-7 defeat, their worst loss of the season.Mainstays of North Texas will be quarterback Robert Duty, halfbacks Bill Cristle and Terry Parks and fullback Arthur Perkins. Linemen include ends Lewis Whitson and Dick Hamilton, taickles Bill Kirbie and Joe Oliver (sole returning first-stringer) guards Billy Weaver and Noe Flores and center Raymond Clement.TWC will be again relying onAggies, Sun Devils GetRolesBC FavoritesNeighboring New Mexico State ection of new coach Joe Kerbel, willbe Texas Western’s first BC gridthe fast passes of quarterback Johnny Furman, who connected with 20 of 42 pass attempts against Utah State and ran for the Miners’ lone touchdown in the fourth quarter after being unable to get off another pass.On the line tonight will be pass-receiving ends Paul Paxson and Gene Williams, tackles Luis Hernandez and James Harvey, guards John Young and Rock Hutson and center Bob Kolliner Jr.Other backfield members of Coach Ben Collins’ probable starting crew tonight will be halfbacks Jackie Meeks and Kent Babb, ably backed by Larry Meeks and Del Williams, and fullback Charles Bradshaw.A probable outstanding feature .:»f tonight’s game, as it was last weekend, will be the smashing punts of fullback Willie VSsquez. Vasquez whammed 67 and 69-yard kicks over the Utah Staters’ head-s Saturday night.Offsetting Vasquez’ success was the notable failure of the Miners to score in four downs from the five yard line late in the second quarter.
