(.Ft—Grover Cleveland Alexander. former pitching: star and bad boy of organized baseball, isin jail here pending hearing oneight separate charges, most of which have to deal with alleged violation of the liquor laws.His plight resulted from an auto accident last yesterdav. *hen he refused to settle with the second party in a collision and drove off.Caught after a six mile chase, he was booked for intoxication, reckless driving, speeding, illegal transportation of liquor, possession and fleeing from the scene of accident and failing to stop w'hen ordered to do so by officers.
