(CP) Earl Dawson, president of the Manitoba Amateur Hockey Association, said Friday that it is his understanding the Manitoba Junior Hockey League will be allowed to play part of its 1961-62 season under internationalrules.Dawson said in an interview that he had talked by telephone Friday with Jack Roxburgh, president of the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association.Dawson said he had discussed the question earlier with CAHA secretary - treasurer Gordon Juekes of Melville, Sask., now in Corner Brook, Nfld. He had not been given final clearance to allow the MJHL to play under the international rules but had been left with the impression that it could be approved.The five - team league announced Friday that it would play under international rules for two months at the start ofthe forthcoming season. It seid the move had been approved by the MAHA.Dawson indicated that he felt the way had been cleared but in his conversation with Roxburgh it became clear that certain formalities still had to be taken care of.However, Dawson was confident that CAHA permission would be forthcoming once the matter had been checked through with Juckes and Roxburgh and certain letters written.The league includes Winnipeg Monarehs, Rangers and Braves, St, Boniface Canadiens and Brandon Wheat Kings.BarberBlastsI iiPORTLAND,’ Ore.
