Barney Furey. of Cincinnati, and Maurice Miller, of this city, gave a sparring match Saturday night in this town. The»e war. also a bout between Kid Miller, of this city, and Will Torrence, a brother of Wood Torrence of Fortville. The Torrences are the alleged leaders of what is Known as the Boo” gang, and in the bout between Miller and Torrence the last named was worsted and his friends ; sprung a rough house.” Furey had I a close call in escaping and it was not ; until he had knocked down several j men that he could force his way to the rear and seek, safety in flight. During the riot a number of men were severely beaten.
