The foot race at tlife Fair grounds Wednesday afternoon of lust week he-tween Frank Hunter and S wall uni, of Hubbard, was won by Hunter by fully two feet as seen by at least 100 men, but one judge from Ilubbard claimed the race for Swalhim which terminated in a draw and all of the money returned. It was a dirty steal however and is so voiced by all disinterested parties as the race was rightfully Hunter’s. Considerable money was up on either side the bets aggregating somewhere near a thousand dollars per side. The nice will be run again in the course of a couple of weeks ul which time there will be more precaution taken and less “monkeying.” The other race between Doren and Brlglibwell was decided in three heats, the two 1st being a draw the 3rd Brightwell won by a nosu, so close that it was necessary to photograph them Lo get a decision.
