RAY BRONSON WANTS TO FIGHT BATTLING NELSONV,Friends of Indianapolis Pug Fear He is Taking in too Much Territory.Successful in his bout with Packer McFarland at New Orleans last Sunday afternoon, when he secured a draw, Ray Bronson, Indianapolis pugilist, who has many friends here, is now trying to arrange a match with Battling Nelson, for the world’s lightweight championship honors. He will meet Tommy Murphy at Boston next month.Bronson’s rise on the ladder of fame in the boxing game has been meteoric. As an unknown blacksmith’ he entered -the square ring a mere novice, appearing first in a number of preliminary events at boxing carnivals in the capital city- His training as a smithy served him toy a good advantage and his ability soon began to attract attention. He has met a number of good men and is now bidding for the highest honors, but his friends fear that in his desire to reach the top he is taking in too much territory at this stage ot the game.
