WhipLauderdaleMERIDIAN — Sophomore tailback Billy Moffett rambled for 147 yards and scored two touchdowns in leading. the Northeast Tigers, 2-1, past the winless Northeast Lauderdale Trojans, 0-3, here Friday nightin non-conference battle.The Tigers will be at home next Friday night to battle the tough Southeast Lauderdale Tigers.The Tigers scored in the first period on a Billy Moffett run.'The PAT failed. Minutes later, the Tigers scored again on aDanny Rasberry to Mike Crumbley pass. The same combination worked again forthe PAT. The Tigers led 14-0 as the quarter ended.Moffett ran four yards in the second period and ran the PAT to give the Tigers a 22-0 half-time lead.iSecond HalfThe Trojans scored their firstVtouchdown of the season in the third quarter on a three vardrun by James Scarbrough. The PAT failed.Danny Rasberry ran one yard in the final period to give the Tigers their final points.Coach Wells was well pleased with the Tigers defense against the run as they limited the host to only seven yards rushing. The Trojans racked up 105 yards through the air.Moffett ran for 134 yards in the first haif and gained only 13 in the second half.Coach Wells said .that hisTieers knew Northeast wasgood club and knew that the Trojans would try and to stop Moffett in the second half. Wells was pleased with the overall play.
