(AP) — A pair of home runs by Mack 1 Jones helped make the differ-1 ence as the Syracuse Chiefs «defeated Rochestr’s Red Wings lt;7-4 Sunday in th opener of thebest-of-seven final series for the 1 International League playoff championship before 2,333 fans.Five homers were hit, all before the end of the fifth, with 1 Bill Roman also hitting one for Syracuse while Joe Pignatano and Lou Jackson homered for the Wings. 1Eight pitchers toiled, five of 1 them for the Chiefs who had I J just emerged from a seven-game semifinal series against 'lt; Buffalo Saturday night.
