It was announced a coach for the Tigers would be named by October 1st.It was also revealed that Tigers will begin training here October 15th. The club will be made up of primarily new faces to the Gas City. It has applied to the CAHA for the allowance of blanket importation. * The Tigers could be called a ‘brother’ to the Estevan squad, one of the top teams in the Saskatchewan junior circuit, a league which Scotty Munroproudly calls “the best juniorleague in Canada”. Training camp at Estevan opens October 1st but Bruins are allowed only two imports of many to arrive in camp. This means that Tigers will be getting at least 12 of these players.A local hockey school will accompany training to startHodOctober 15th here. Munro and Jordan will give all Medicine Hat players a chance to show their wares/ Medicine Hat prospects are the players the club is looking for more than anything else this season.A 25-home game schedule has also been drawn up with Native Sons, Edmonton Oil Kings and all teams in the SJHL playing here. The club will also 1 make road trips taking on 25 or more engagement.; with the same teams. The first-year operation is expected to branch out into a new-junior league next season but plans of this nature are still in the future.HOME DEBUT• . /. .♦ • • •According to the ne\y home schedule, which has not yet been officially released, Tigers will play at home against an SJHL club October 24th in their debut. Lethbridge Native Sons are scheduled to make their firSt appearance here, October 28th. Tigers will play their first game of the season in Lethbridge, October 20th,Tigers will also enter the Memorial Cup playdowns this spring with Lethbridge, the; first club to beat. The series will likely be a best-of-seven affair with the winner going against Edmonton Oil Kings for the provincial junior title.“. . A * J .. .“This will definitely be a rebuilding year for junior hockey here,” Munro has asserted, “but I think Medicine Hat should have a 'pleasing brand of hockey in store.”. The possible revival of the oldWestern Junior League, or a loop similar, is likely tostrengthen the entire operationimmensely. vThe club will wear the colors of the Boston Bruins—black pants and sweaters With gold and white trim. The sweaters will hav% the players’ numbers on both sides and /on the sleeves. /Bruchet, in meeting with Tiger officials to iron out the proposed schedule this year, revealed his club would begin training October 10th.
