Bicycle motorcross set i Sept.29 at Jim'sYamaha j!Fun for youngsters of all ages is in store Sunday, Sept. 29 when an event new to the area, a bicycle motocross, comes to the new track behind Jim’s Yamaha on route 13 a half-mile west of Harrisburg.Proprietor Jim Lamkin explains the event, “We’re working on a fifty-mile track out here that will have at least three jumps and a waterhole. Kids of all ages are invited to come out here Sunday, Sept. 29 and bring their bicycles to ride over the track in competition.“We’re going to have a $1 entry fee, but I’m not out to make a dime on this. After we deduct whatever small expenses we might have, the rest of the money is going to go for prizes. We’ll have a certain number of classesfor age groups, but we won’t set f the ages until we see how many of each age are going to enter.”Lamkin said a notarized parental consent will be required jof all riders in the motocross, 'which will be run under similar rules to a regular motorcycle motocross, though no motor-powered bikes will be permitted in this event.“I’ll be out here Monday from 6 p. m. to 8 p. m. working on the track, and anyone with questions or wanting to enter is invited to come out and talk to us,” Lamkin said.Entry may be made in advance or the day of the race. Warm-up laps Sunday may begin at 11 a. m. with racing slated to get underway at 1 p.m.
