House of David Nine • Play Odessa Tues.The “House of David,” worlds champion travelling team has accepted the challenge of the management of the Odessa “Oilers” to play one game at Odessa, Tuesday, September 25, at 4 p. m. and an all star list of players from various teams of the Permian League is being selected to oppose them.The unshorn House of David players who neither shave nor cut their hair, have a record of having won over 100 games each season for the past six years.Their “pepper game” in which it is claimed to be impossible to follow the ball, is world famous, and at Denver Colorado tournament, 14,-000 fans saw this exhibition and j 5,000 were turned away.A large crowd will doubtless go to Odessa for this game, it being the only one in which these players will appear in this section of the country.Probable lineup for Odessa will be as follows: Briggs, Odessa and Allen, Crane, pitchers; Manny, Crane, catcher; White, Odessa, 1st base; Van Landingham, McCamey, 2nd base;j Ray, Odessa, shortstop; Scroggins, Odessa, 3rd base; Estes, Midland, left field; Hands, Odessa, right field; West, Odessa, centerfield; and several utility men yet to be selected.
