THREE-OAV SHOW TO OPEN THURSDAYAnnual Event of Fairfield County Organization Draws Many Entries.The 4th annual horse show of the Fairfield County Hunt clb will open next Thursday, Sept. 23, and last until the end of the week. The show this year has passed all expectations and the committee in charge are looking for over one thousand entries. Owing to the many exhibitors entered at Rochester and eyracuse this show was put off several weeks in order that the -people from up New York state could get their horses over to Westport to plenty of time. With the new outside course recently reconstructed by Marshall Hall, who has added a water course. It Is expected that the jumping exhibitions will vie with any course In the country. For that reason alone many entries have been listed. This year seventy-five first prizes will he given, two of the most sought prizes have been donated by Dr. A. Schuyler, president of the club and known as the President's Prize, and the other la the Cathedral Cup, presented by John McEntree Bowman, for the best horse or pony In the show. Judges of all classes will act and cast votes for choice. Majority votes to decide the winner. All entrance fees will be given to fund the Sportsman's Bay in the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, New York City.With the many polo players on Long Island at ,fch!6 time, it is hoped that several members of both the American and British teams will be able to put in one day at the show. With the hundreds of outaide entries coming in. the committee has paid much attention to club and local entries. It Is hoped that i many of the farmers and truck grow- ers will take Interest in this show and exhibit their best draft horses. Every arrangement has been completed for ; looking after the horses.
