Wiley, with the sanction of the board of commissioners, is having a comprehensive valuation made of all the buildings and farm lands in Chehalis county, which, when secured, taken in connection with the timber cruise, will furnisnthe assessor’s office with the data for making the assessment for taxation at a slight cost and as equitable as is possible for such estimates to be.In Aberdeen, Ernest Aldrich, the well known builder, with a clerk to assist him, is appraising the buildings of Aberdeen and Sherman Hoover is doing likewise in Hoquiam. When those two cities are finished, they will go over the other cities and towns in the county.Three capable men are engaged in$appraising the farms of the county. They note the size, age and general construction of each building on a farm, and classify the land, just as would be done for an intending purchaser and the reports will enable the office to easily arrive at a just valuation for taxation purposes. The cost of this work is comparatively light, and. being a permanent record in the office, will save many times its cost in a few years.Grays Harbor Motorcycle Club Will Hold Endurance Run, from Hoquiam to Olympia Next SundayHOQUIAM, Sept. 19.—The Grays Harbor Motorcycle club will hold an endurance run next Sunday to Olympia and return, the time of departure being 8:30 a. m. and of arrival back here 5:05 p. m.
