' rsrSoldier Caruso Will Sing Irish Songs for Wounded Soldiers During Game.Baseball, a pepper game, and music; will be presented at Road Runner park lor one admission tomorrow and Thursday nights when fchb famous House of David baseball team plays a Uvo-gome series with the Paritpa :Rodd' Runners. Both games will be called at 8:15 o'clock, with admission the same, as usual, 25 cents for women and 40 cents for men.Pans are warned to come early If they expect to get a good seat. Hie reason for the early • arrival will be a program by Soldier Caruso, nationally known tenor, who will be here with the club and who will sing- before-'thd grandstand proceeding the game. Then, all will want good seats to see the pepper game put on by members of the team.Caruso was formerly with the Redpath Lyceum of Chicago. During the last few years he has been singing before large outdoor audiences at sporting events. All the money he makes above his bare necessities, he gives to ex-service men’s organizations. Caruso was wounded several times during the World war and is a cripple.He sings out of doors with an almost unbelievable ease and his renditions of Irish songs Is worth the price of admission. The Indianapolis NEWS says in a recent stcvy, “15.000 fpns at Perry stadium gave a rousing reception to that | famous tenor, Soldier Caruso, as he appeared here with the House of David Baseball team—the range of Caruso’s voice, which is a robust i'tenor, captured his listeners im-■ mediately.”The same members who defeated the Road Runners here earlier in the season will be with the bearded team. Doc Talley, who has been with the team more than 17 years, will be on hand to do mound duty, and also to take part in the pepper game. Tucker, greatest first baseman in or out of organized baseball, will also be with tht team and take part in the pepper game,Nusser, the pitcher with the long nose, will also be back to try and defeat the Road Runners again. The House of David pitching staff has been strengthened by the signing of Brady and Spiesman, two great performers.The bearded boys have played more than 150 games this season and has lost only 28 games. They j defeated St. Josephs in the Western league 10 to 1 and then took a 9 to 8 game from Omaha in the same league.Manager George Bulla’s Road Runners are primed to rub out the defeat, handed them in the spring. His entire pitching staff will beready to send against the Davids, It will be n strengthened club that will face the visitors.Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon will see the Fprt •Worth Cats, Texas league team, here for three; ganies. The team will be rpanaged by Art Bhires.
