A illRKE AND BLACK BATTERY.I Pitcher Burke Gets into Tronhie with I Dude Christopher.I Pitcher Burke and Dude Christopher, the latter a negro, got into a fight at the corner of Main and Seventh streets yesterday morning before 7 o’clock. Bothparties had not yet gone to bed as they attended the colored dance through the night, ft is said that Christopher accused I Burke of insulting a lady friend of his at I the dance. Words followed until finally I it is reported that Christopher drew a razor, although it was not fully estab lished in evidence that the steel glistened in the early morning sunlight. Both parties were placed under arrest by Officers Murphy and Ryan and taken before Justice Cooney. Christopher was fined and Burke discharged. Burke was afterwards released from the ball team.Friend, who stole Miller’s clothes was fined $12.75 in all. The fine was paid andFriend went free. Ke goes with the boys this morning, Burke having been released and Garvin being dangerously ill with inflammation of the bowels.
