Sept. 17 —Fivefromand eight other letter winnersare on the 24-man squad awaiting the opening of the Racelandi High school football season tomorrow on Rambler field.After three weeks of practice under Coach Ben Flora and As-.SiStant J. Gumoflo Jr., the Raceland squad will enter theseason by entertaining the Cat-le'tsburg squad and with fair prospect predicted for a successful season.The squad averages about 150Iipounds.Backfield candidates include Seniors Clifford Oney, James Short and Elmer Adams; Juniors j Carl Fannin and Gilbert Thompson, Sophomore? Luther Short, j Charles Toney and Kenneth Collins, a grade school student iSeniors James Lewis and James Barker and Juniors I s h m a e 1 Oney. Ralph Millei and Lee Adkins are out for end.Tackle candidates include Seniors Lerov Ferguson and William Fannin. Juniors Russeil Keesec! and Moody Truitt and Freshman Charles Lawhorn.Four players are aspiring to the guard slots.
