This is how they made It: Dlneen, who Is very faat, beat out a bunt aftor two men had been retired. He took a long lead off first-and Mc-Gco whipped the ball to Ganzel. The runner had no ohanco to get back and made a dash for second. 'Ganzel had plenty of time and used It to throw *tho ball past Davis into left flold, Dlneen making third easily on the error. Then Shorty” Slagle, who Is also fast, shot a hot bounder to Davis and he Juggled It Just long enough to allow Dlneen to score and Slagle to get to first.McGee pitched an excellent gamo for New York and was entitled to a victory. In only ono inning did... the Bostons bunch their hits, when four single* gave them two runs. There was never any doubt as to thoresult of the second game. New Yorkscored two rins In the third Inning onan error by Moran, a base on balls, VanHaltren’s single and Strang’/* fly to Cooley. The New Yorks’ advantage seemed to stupefy the Bostons und theydJd not get a man over tho plate until the eighth Inning.Tho New Yorks added two more runs to their score in the same inning on Van Iloltren’a fourth hit of the game, Strang's safe bunt, a bad throw by Lowe and fly-out to Slagle.Luther Taylor held the visitors down to six hits In tho first eight innings, and perfect fielding did tho rest. In the ninth they rallied and scored a run on three singles and then slopped.
