HOUSE OF DAVID BALL CLUB SHUTS OUT WINDSOR 9-0“Bearded Beauties*’ Make Big Hit in Exhibition at Liberty ParkThe House of David baseball club, scheduled to perform here Friday but kept idle by rain, took advantage of the cancellation of a scheduled engagement at Carthage Saturday night to return to Sedalia and wallop the Windsor 75 Club, 9 to 0, under the Liberty Park floodlights in an exhibition that measured up to all the advance claims of the prowess of the famous “bearded beauties.”Windsor kicked away whatever chance the 75 club had to make it a ball game in the first three innings, but the House of David performed so entertainingly on and off the diamond that the spectators including most of the Windsor population seldom gave a though* to the score.What little Windsor remorse was felt by the decisive defeat was relieved by the knowledge of the fact that Hoy “Bally” Hutson, a well known resident of the thriving Henry county town, played a stellar role in the victory of the bearded players. Hutson scored two of the House of David runs and drove out a long double to aid in the rout of the home town forces.The “bearded beauties” not only {acquitted themselves as first class ball players, but presented a “pepper ball” exhibition that pleased the spectators no end and had them asking for more.In addition to good fielding and plenty of hitting power, the House of David sported an effective hurl-er in A1 Husser who grew’ stronger as the game went along, yielding only five hits and striking out 13 ! men, seven of them in sucession ! in the sixth, seventh and eighth ! innings.
