CAHA OfficialDoug GrimstonPasses at 55NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C.—(CP) —One of Canada’s best - known hockey officials, Douglas Grimston of New Westminster, died in Royal Columbian Hospital Wednesday after a six-month -illness. He was 55.Mr. Grimston was a past president of the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association and was an ardent supporter of all sports.He was past president of the New Westminster Rotary Club, junior board of trade and the Vancouver Golf and Country Club. He was also a member of the Masonic and Elks lodges.A long-time member and once chairman of the- New Westminster parks board, Mr. Grimston was defeated in last year’s elections.An outstanding lacrosse and basketball player in - his youth, he was predeceased by his wife and father. He is survived by his mother, one brother and two sisters, three daughters and one son.Funeral services will be held Friday.
