Babe Didrikson Featured In House Of David LineupBABE DIDRIKSONBabe Didrikson, the world’s outstanding woman athlete, will pitch for the House of David baseball club when it plays here Sunday niglit under floodlights at Tronick park with the Troubadours.The Davids bring with them their owrn $30,000 portable light plant, and offer the fans the pepper game and donkey game w’hich goes on after the regular game.The donkey game is one of the greatest novelties ever introduced into baseball. Players astride the donkeys roam, or rather try to roam over the field after the ball, and when the batter hits it and mounts his donkey to go to first,the donkey may have other notions at that particular moment and refuse to move.The umpires play a very important role in the donkey game. The donkeys don’t eeem to have any more love for the umpire than the players or fans, and takes a kick at them every chance they get, but of course the umpires have the last say, and if the donkeys go hee-haa in the umpire s face he doesn’t get any oats that night. Smith says the best way for the fans to tell the ball players from the donkey is, the players have long whiskers and the donkeys have long ears.
