She has been signed by Ray Doan, sports promoter, as a leader of a girls* basketball team. Doan is the man who sponsors the House of David baseball team. He will assemble his basketball team immediately after Hia baseball team closes in Milwaukee, September 24. 'A: '-iit£?'' *Babe Didrikson is a marvelous basketball jjlayer. She won her first fame as a member of the Dallas Oolden Cvclines the year they won the National A. A. U. championship. -v lt;• .■ MAn accurae goal shooter, splendid passer and fast court worker, Miss Didrikson finally has stepped into an athletic branch that gives her a chance to appear before the public in something at which she isn’t a novice. Her idea of going east and trying to complete in billiard matches, ping-pong contests and boxing was outof her line.Doan claims he has guaranteed Miss Didrikson a large sum to lead the All-Star Girls* Basketball team. Possibilities are that Babe is going to cut in on the gate receipts the same os Grover Cleveland Alexander does as a member of the House of David team
