HIGH SGHOOL STUDENTS ORGANIZE FOR DASKET'BALL- The high school faculty and students by common consent decided to place foot ball under ban for this season. In place of the skull-cracking, bone-breaking melee in which brute strength alone wins, the more scientific game of basket ball in which skill is paramount, will be substituted. In a meeting, Monday, Supt. Henderson informed the boys that the trustees of the Presbyterian church had kindly consented to let the old building for a gymnasium at a small rental fee. The fitting up of the auditorium will begin immediately. At the suggestion of Mr. Henderson, a committee of three students to act with the faculty in managing the as-9sociation were selected as follows: Haughey Mount, Don Julien and Will Smock. Mr. Henderson, who is an experienced basket-ball player, will act as coach of the team.It will take considerable practice to get the team in shape, as few of the boys are familiar with the game. However there is excellent material among them and a winning squad will be turned out in time. The gymnasium will be well lighted and heated this winter and public games with other high schools will be given as soon as the squad has practiced sufficiently.
