A year ago the same to teams had opened the season with a 12-12 tie.Tipton, which is expected to dominate the Wamac Conference race this season, racked up 336 yards rushing, while the Bears were held to under 100 on the ground.In the first quarter, Bob Ward scored on a five-yard run and Bill Kruse intercepted a pass and ran it back 25 yards for a TD. Mike Gade scored on a three-yard run in the second period and in the third quarterKruse nailed the Bears* Jeff Lathrop in the end zone for a two-point safety.Ward went 13 yards for a touchdown a short time later and Quarterback Rick Morden rounded out the 15-point third period with a three-yard scoring run.
