SNAPPY FALL SCHEDULE FOR D.H.S. BASKET BALL TEAMManagers of the Delphi High School Basket -Hall Team have made what promises to be a snappy and an ultra-interesting schedule for this fall. The fall season will open at Idaville, Sept. 22nd and close in Delphi Nov. 24th. The fall games will be principally with White county teams, but the managers hope, what with last season’s and the coming tail’s practice in lieu of powder and ball, to have the guns loaded for big game on the winter schedule. For the first few. games the team will probably feel sorely the loss of Craig and Mount, the crack forwards on last season’s team, who were members of the 1911 graduating class. There is not at present sufficient and satisfactory material for the outpost places, but there is a great quantity of green material from which forwards can be cut and seasoned and Mr. Henderson, the coach, is sure he can plug the positions with coming first-class ! stuff.Following is the tall schedule, subject of course, to change:Delphi at Idaville,............Sept. 22.Delphi at Monticello............Oct. 6.Idaville at Delphi..............Oct. 13.Delphi at Brookston...........Oct. 20.Brook9ton at Delphi...........Nov. 24.*Two squads will be formed of the 32 candidates reported and two teams formed from each 3quad. The basketball room in the new Julien building will have been completed by Oct. 1, and the two squads will practice in the following order: Squad 1—Monday afternoon, Tuesday evening and Thursday afternoon. Squad 2—Monday evening and Friday afternoon. In no instance will practices be permitted to interfere with school work; all of them will be held after school hours. The two squads have already begun practice in the school house yard but owing to the roughness of the ground, have been able to accomplish not very much.Following are the men from among whom the team will probably be picked: McCain, Julien. DeVitt, Baughman, Smock, Sheilenberger, Smith. McCain was selected captain at a recent athletic meeting and has the stuff ir. him to get out a winning bunch. The eighth grade boys wik be allowed to practice !n the hall or. Tuesday afternoons and Thursday evenings and promise to have some good material in shape for next year’s team. Twenty-two giri3 of the high school have come : out for the girls' team and Miss Mabel j Cochrane has been selected captain for j the second season. They will be allowed the hall Wednesday and Saturdayafternoons. They are anxious for a schedule with other high schools but it is doubtful whether one car. be arrang-
