Vincent Stevenson, the University of Pennsylvania quarterback, who has been signed by “Blondy” Wallace for t^e Canton football teaan, arrived in Canton over the Pennsylvania lines last night at 9:50. He is the first of the Red and White pigskin chasers to arrive in this city. Practice will not be started until September 25, a week from next Tuesday and most of the players will not report urftil a few days before that date.Stevenson is the greatest quarterback ever known, being even superior to Walter Eckersall, of Chicago, who made the All-American team last year. Stevenson was universally selected as the All-American quarterback in 1904, but because of his being ejected from several games on account of misunderstandings, he lost the title last year and it went to Eckersall. He was elected captain of 1906 team but resigned because of some difficulty with his superiors. He is 22 years old and weighs 145 pounds.#i1(
