Topriotchers to Meet.Tommy Ryan and Kid Carter willbox for the middleweight championship at Fort Erie, Ont., Sept. 15. This contest will bring together two fighters of the first class. Ryan is well known as a past master in the fighting business. As a ring general he has no superior. During his long boxing career but one man has been able to defeat him in decisive manner and that one “Kid” McCoy. Carter is a strong young fellow, who is willing to mix it up with the best of them.His recent performances have shown him to be in fine fettle. He gave “Kid” McCoy a severe drubbing in Philadelphia and polished ofT Al Weinig and Jimmy Handler in approved style. Carter and Ryan met in Chicago in November. 1900. on which occasion Ryan got the six-round decision, without exerting himself toany great extent.
